How To Join
New members will need to complete the Burntwood Family History Group Application Form. A copy of the form can be obtained from the Treasurer at our monthly meetings. For those joining by post, it can be downloaded here - Burntwood Family History Group Application Form.
BFHG introduced a new subscription structure from the start of 2022. It offers a choice of three types of membership. When you are making your payment, please select the one that suits you best. We are pleased to say that the subscription rates for 2024 remain the same as they were in 2023.
STANDARD MEMBERSHIP: For members who prefer to pay that way, the annual fee is £15.00 for a Single member and £22.50 for a Joint membership. Members with Standard Membership will need to pay on the door entrance fees, at £3 per person, for both the formal public meetings on the second Monday of the month and the drop-in research evenings on the fourth Monday of the month. We also ask Standard members attending via Zoom to contribute a nominal £3 fee each time they join that way (paid, for example, by bank transfer).
SILVER MEMBERSHIP: An all-inclusive ‘SILVER’ membership that entitles the member to attend all the regular monthly meetings on the second Monday of the month for a one-off annual fee of £42.00 (Single membership) or £76.50 (Joint membership). It would not matter if the member attends in person or remotely via Zoom, there would be nothing extra to pay. This offers a nominal saving of £9 for a single member, £18 for a joint membership.
GOLD MEMBERSHIP: An all-inclusive ‘GOLD’ membership that entitles the member to attend all meetings (both the regular public meetings and the drop-in/research evenings) for a one-off annual fee of £69.00 for a Single member. This offers a nominal saving of £15 for a single member. There is currently no Gold Joint membership but please contact us if you think that would suit you best.
The SILVER and GOLD memberships provide incentives for our members whilst providing greater certainty of income for Burntwood Family History Group in these difficult times.
Many members now prefer to pay by bank transfer; please contact Burntwood Family History Group for the relevant banking details. If you would prefer to pay in cash at a monthly meeting, or by post (sent to the Treasurer at the address on the Application Form), then that is fine. Payments by cheque should be made payable to Burntwood Family History Group.
Please note that there is a reduced Standard Membership fee, for the first year, for those who join after 1st July:
Single Half-Year Membership £7.50 - Joint Half-Year Membership £11.25
with similar 50% reductions for both Silver and Gold memberships.
