WHAT WE DO
Burntwood Family History Group welcomes newcomers and non members to its monthlly meetings.
We have two meetings each month. They take place on the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month at Chase Terrace Academy and run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Further details and a full list of forthcoming meetings is given on the page Where and When We Meet.
Members of our group have transcribed historical records from our local towns and villages, including Local Registers, Censuses, Monumental Inscriptions and School Admission Records. Many of these are now available for purchase on CD or USB memory stick.
Members can submit their surname interests which will be listed on the BFHG website so that members and non-members can make contact and share information.
Burntwood Family History Group produces a quarterly journal which is exchanged with other family history societies, both nationally and internationally. It is free to Members and can be purchased by non-members for £1.00
In 2011, we began work on the Burntwood Memorial Project, researching the lives and families of servicemen from Burntwood and the local area who served and lost their lives during the Great War and other conflicts. The completed biographies are available on this website. If you want information on how to get involved in the research of a serviceman, or you have information about a serviceman already on our website, please contact Burntwood Family History Group.
